Build your own testing pipeline for Drupal using Gitlab, Gitlab Pipelines and Docker
Do you remember how cool drush make was when it appeared? Time and tooling evolved over time, and today we find ourselves in a situation when using an external tool to manage library and component dependencies is unavoidable. So we have to build our project now. Why not make it automatic? So it’s automatic now, why don’t we run some tests as well? Why don’t we integrate it into our repository so that contributions on a project can be immediately validated?
This presentation will explain how and why Cheppers grew to adopt Gitlab Pipelines as the in-house build pipeline, using virtualisation technologies such as Docker, some horror stories and some wins along the way.
